Vol. 139 No. 13

Supplementary and Additional Estimates—Leave to Introduce.

I move:—

That leave be given by the Dáil to introduce the following Supplementary and additional Estimates for the service of the year ending on the 31st March, 1954, namely:—

Votes Nos.—

22 (Universities and Colleges),

68 (Local Loans Fund).

The Minister is introducing both together?

Can the Minister say what the amounts are?

In the case of the Estimate for Universities and Colleges I referred to the matter in the Budget and informed the House that the amount of the Estimate would be £200,000.

In the case of the Estimate for the Local Loans Fund, when the Bill extending the limit of advances under the Local Loans Fund including the writing off of advances which had already been paid from that fund was under discussion, I informed the House that the amount of the Estimate would be £2,830.

Does the Minister suggest that this will complete thefinancial business before going to the country?

I suggest that these matters are urgent and ought to be disposed of without any further delay.

That applies to the Finance Bill. When should we hope to get that?

Motion agreed to.
