Vol. 140 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Síochána Pensions.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether it is intended to make any amendment of the Garda Síochána Pensions Orders so as to ensure that Gardaí awarded special pensions on account of having been injured in the course of duty will get increases commensurate with the increases in pay which they would have received had they not been obliged to retire as a result of their injury.

The grant of increased pensions in respect of public service is not in contemplation and the claims of police pensioners or of any particular class of police pensioners cannot be considered apart from the claims of other pensioners.
