Vol. 140 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Part-time Medical Officer Appointments.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if when appointing part-time medical officers to vacancies that may exist primary consideration is given to the medical qualifications of the applicants.

Yes. Consideration must, however, be given also to such matters as the applicant's age, and personal character, the location of his residence and surgery, the amount of time which he could give to Post Office patients, the likelihood of his remaining in the locality and to many other factors depending on the circumstances in each case.
