Vol. 141 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Land Project Machinery.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state theseveral items of machinery the property of his Department purchased for the land project which have been sold and the county in which each such item was previously working, the cost price of and the price realised for each item and the total cost price of and total price realised for the items sold.

Tenders have been received for all the machinery the proposed sale of which was the subject of advertisements on 15th and 16th June last. Transactions are not complete and there are further lots to be advertised. It would be contrary to established practice to give information regarding prices obtained for individual items by private tender. If the Deputy so desires, I will inform him of the total amount realised for the machinery as compared with the total cost when the sales have been completed.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary give the list of items that were involved without prices? I can see his point about prices.

I will pass the Deputy's request on to the Minister.
