Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salaries of Social Welfare Agents.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of agents employed in his Department outside the Cities of Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford, whose wages do not exceed £3 per week; exceed £3 but do not exceed £4; exceed £4 but do not exceed £5; exceed £5 but do not exceed £6; exceed £6 but do not exceed £7 and exceed £7.

As the Deputy is aware, the rural agents are part-time officers many of whom engage in other employment. The number of agents who receive allowances of the denominations mentioned by the Deputy are as follows:—84, 49, 22, 18, 24 and 25 respectively.
