Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Kildare Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have yet decided to initiate proceedings for the acquisition of the Halligan lands at Blackwood, Prosperous, County Kildare; and, if so, how the matter now stands.

There has been no change in the position since my reply to a similar question by the Deputy on the 4th February last.

Will the Minister say whether proceedings are still adjourned or whether the Land Commission are proceeding further?

The position is that on the 10th December, 1952, the commissionersruled that the case be adjourned for two years.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the Murphy lands at Thomastown, Enfield, County Kildare, for division among local applicants.

Proceedings were instituted for the acquisition of these lands but were subsequently discontinued.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have acquired the Ashe estate at Narraghmore, Athy, County Kildare ; and, if so, when the lands will be divided.

The proceedings for the acquisition of this estate have not yet been concluded and it is not possible to state whether or when the lands will become available for allotment.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring for division the Hemmingway estate, comprising 300 acres, at Ballynakill, Carbury, County Kildare; and, if so, with what result.

Proceedings for the acquisition of this estate are well advanced.
