Vol. 142 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Accidents to Army Aircraft.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state (1) the number of occasions during the period 6th January, 1951, to 19th May, 1952, upon which aircraft of the Army Air Corps were concerned in crashes or accidents of a major or minor nature; (2) the extent of damage or loss sustained as a result of these incidents; (3) the number of commissioned flying personnel involved in these incidents, and (4) the number of commissioned flying personnel against whom disciplinary action of any nature was taken as a result of these incidents.

There were eight such incidents during the period mentioned, resulting in loss to the total extent of approximately £3,330. The number of commissioned flying personnel involved was nine and the circumstances of the incidents did not warrant disciplinary action being taken against any of them.
