asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what accounts for the increase from £104,341 to £294,638 in the item "Other Department Receipts not appropriated in aid of Votes, etc.," in sundry receipts of Exchequer Account.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Exchequer Account Increase.
The difference of £190,297 in the figures quoted by the Deputy is accounted for by a cash write-off of £197,097 of the surplus on the Vote for Increases in Remuneration, 1951-52, and by minor variations in departmental receipts.
How does the write-off arise?
I have explained to the Deputy that it is caused by a surplus on the Vote for increases in remuneration and by minor variations in departmental receipts.
