Vol. 142 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Electrification.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that a successful canvass has been made of the Cordal-Scartaglin area with a view to the installation of a rural electrification scheme; and, if so, if he will state what is the present position with regard to the project.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Castleisland area, which includes Cordal and Scartaglin, has been considered by the board on a number of occasions for development under the rural electrification scheme but has not so far been selected. The area will be considered again in due course but I am not in a position to state when development is likely to take place.
