Vol. 142 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Telephone Service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the unusual delay in obtaining telephone calls between Wexford and New Ross; and, if so, if he will take steps to correct this situation.

There is occasionally some delay on calls between Wexford and New Ross because the number of circuits connecting New Ross is not sufficient to carry the traffic without delay. In a recent period of peak traffic 60 per cent. of the calls were connected within ten minutes, 80 per cent. within 20 minutes and 20 per cent. between 20 and 60 minutes. Additional circuits to New Ross will be provided as soon as circumstances permit.
