Vol. 142 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tory Island: Radio Telephone

asked the Minister forPosts and Telegraphs if he will state when it is proposed to have a radio telephone installed between Tory Island and the mainland.

Weather permitting, it is hoped that the new radio telephone equipment on Tory Island will be working early in the new year.

Is it seriously suggested that this equipment will be installed between now and the new year?

The equipment will probably arrive before Christmas and, weather permitting, we hope to have it ready for assembling and erection early in the new year.

May I remind the Minister that I got the same reply this time 12 months?

The Deputy will recall that there was an unavoidable delay in procuring the equipment.
