Vol. 142 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - East Cork Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have yet acquired the Flavin estate. Pillmore, Youghal; and whether, in view of the large number of uneconomic holdings in the vicinity of the estate, the Land Commission will endeavour to have the estate divided immediately, so as to give farmers who carry out intensive cultivation of their land an opportunity of tilling their portions of this land in the coming spring season.

Proceedings have been instituted for the acquisition of the estate and a price has been offered by the Land Commission but it is not possible to state whether or when the lands will be acquired.
