Vol. 142 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Electrification.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the E.S.B. propose extending a supply of current to the area of Shanakill, Roscrea, County Tipperary, where a canvass has taken place and the proportion of the people who are willing to accept is over 88 per cent.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that an official canvass of theresidents of the Shanakill area was completed last July and that towards the end of this year the area will be considered by the board for development under the rural electrification scheme. I am not, however, in a position to state when the development of the area is likely to take place.
