Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Directors of Mianraí Teoranta.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the names and qualifications and terms of appointment of the directors appointed in the last 12 months to the board of Mianraí Teoranta.

Dr. Michael A. Hogan and Mr. James J. Hannigan who retired from office as directors of Mianraí Teoranta by rotation were reappointed for a further period as from 29th May, 1953.

The qualification of a director is the holding of at least one share in the company.

Subject to the right of the Minister for Finance, after consultation with the Minister for Industry and Commerce and the Minister for Agriculture, to remove a director from office and subject, also, to the obligations imposed by the Articles of Association of the company as regards vacation of office on the occurrence of certain specified events, e.g., bankruptcy or lunacy, the term of appointment of a director is for the period from his appointment, or reappointment, until he next retires by rotation in accordance with the Articles of Association or until his successor has been appointed. Under the Articles of Association two directors, other than the managing director, retire by rotation each year.
