Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of the years 1951/52 and 1952/53 the average amount of the employment allowance per worker under the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946.

The average amount of the employment allowance per worker was £5 10s. 10d. in the year 1951/52 and £5 10s. 3d. in 1952/53.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of the years 1951/52 and 1952/ 53 the number of claims for employment allowances under the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946, received and admitted and the number of male relatives of the rated occupiers and the number of employees in respect of whom the allowances were admitted.

The number of claims for employment allowances received and admitted in the years 1951/52 and 1952/53 was 58,887 and 57,631 respectively. The number of male relatives in respect of whom claims were admitted was 44,967 in 1951/52 and 44,312 in 1952/53. The corresponding figures for employees are 51,510 and 49,796.
