Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Reclamation Scheme.

asked the Minister forAgriculture if he will state in respect of each county, and the whole country, for each quarter from 1st January, 1949, to date (a) the total amount paid in grants under section A of the land reclamation scheme, giving the number of holdings and the total acreage involved and (b) the number of holdings on which work was completed under section B of the scheme, and the acreage involved.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to Deputy Burke on 30th July last regarding the compilation of special statistical data in connection with the land reclamation scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the total annual expenditure on the land reclamation scheme for each of the years 1949-50 to 1952-53, and the estimated expenditure for the present financial year.

Expenditure on the land reclamation scheme during each financial year from 1949/50 was as follows:—

In regard to the estimated expenditure for the current financial year, I would refer the Deputy to the Book of Estimates, which contains the information he requires.
