Vol. 142 No. 12

Rent Restrictions (Continuance and Amendment) Bill, 1953—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to continue in operation the Rent Restrictions Act, 1946, and to provide during its continuance for lawful additions analogous to those under Section 11, sub-section (2), paragraph (g), and under Section 17, sub-section (2), paragraph (e) of that Act as modified by the Rent Restrictions (Amendment) Act, 1949.—(Minister for Justice.)

When is it proposed to take the next stage?

Is this just an ordinary Continuance Bill without amendment?

Yes. There are consequential amendments due to the fact that there is another year. That is the only amendment.

Does it include houses built since 1941?

Mr. Boland

That is another day's work.

It is, and a good day's work, and you are not doing it.

Mr. Boland

It is another day's work.

Second Stage ordered for Wednesday, 18th November.
