Vol. 143 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Anglo-Irish Air Travel Talks.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if the proposed airport for Cork was discussed during the recent Anglo-Irish air travel talks; and, if so, if he will make a statement on the matter.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make a statement on the Anglo-Irish air travel talks which took place recently in Dublin.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 12 and 13 together.

The discussions which have taken place in Dublin between officials of the two countries have been related to a review of the air agreements concluded in 1946 between Ireland and Britain. The review is not yet complete and certain matters are being studied further. I shall not be in aposition to make any statement until the review has been completed.

Can the Minister say in reply to the question whether the Cork airport was discussed at the conference?

I said that I would not be able to make any statement until the negotiations were completed.
