Vol. 143 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Medical Prescriptions.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will draw the attention of the Fair Trade Commission to the practice of having medical prescriptions written in Latin and in secret code signs and if he will request the commission to consider the question of having this system abolished in the interests of public enlightenment and fair trading; and,if not, whether he will state the reason for his decision.

The answer is in the negative. I do not consider that the matter referred to comes within the ambit of the Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1953.
