Vol. 143 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Fishing Industry Facilities.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the present position in regard to the provision of improved anchorages and facilities for the fishing industry at (i) Portaleen, and (ii) Portaronan.

A hydrographic survey of the Portaleen area has been carried out, the engineering examination of the results has been completed and the engineer's report will shortly be available.

In the case of the landing facilities at Portaronan, it will be necessary, before a decision can be reached as to what improvements, if any, might be carried out there, to have an engineering inspection of the site and a report with estimate of cost. It is hoped to arrange for this inspection within the next two months.
