Vol. 143 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Robberies in Dublin.

asked the Minister for Justice whether his Department has given consideration to the recent robberies in Dublin and whether any special steps have been decided on with a view to curbing such crime, whether consideration has been given to transferring Gardaí from duty in regard to car parking time limits to work on the solving of such crimes and the more adequate policing of property; and whether a special conference of the Gardaí chiefs has been or will be called to prepare an all-out plan to end such crime in view of public uneasiness and fear.

Mr. Boland

I have discussed the matter with the commissioner and I am satisfied that the Garda authorities are taking all possible steps to deal with the situation by the most appropriate means.
