Vol. 143 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Whiting.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether An Bord Iascaigh Mhara, on behalf of State trawlers, sold 131 boxes of fish on 18th November, which included 110 boxes of whiting; further, if he will state whether a large quantity of whiting supplied from inshore fishing boats on the previous day was dumped by the board.

I am informed by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara that the answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, a very small proportion of the whiting put up for sale by the board on 17th instant did not find a purchaser.
