Documents relating to the acquisition of lands and water rights in connection with the proposed scheme were received in my Department on the 5th September, 1953. On a preliminary examination of the documents in the Department a number of questions of a procedural nature arose. The documents were returned to the sanitary authority with these queries on the 15th September and replies are still awaited.

Revised outline proposals submitted by the sanitary authority for this scheme have been generally approved and the submission of detailed documents has been requested.
