Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - China and Delf.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the value of the imports of (a) china and (b) delf in each of the years 1951 and 1952 and up to 30th September, 1953.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the quantity of (a) china and (b) delf imported in each of the years 1951 and 1952 and up to the 30th September, 1953.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 3 and 4 together, and to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the desired information.

Following is the statement:—

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the value and volume of the home production of (a) china and (b) delf in each of the years 1951 and 1952 and up to 30th September, 1953.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the particulars required by the Deputy for the years 1951 and 1952, together with an estimate of the volume of output for the nine months January—September, 1953.

Following is the statement:—

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the number of firms engaged in the production of (a) china and (b) delf.

The returns for the latest Census of Industrial Production, which relate to 1952, show that in that year there were no firms engaged in the production of china and three firms engaged in the production of delf.
