Vol. 143 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade With Russia.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his attention has been drawn to a news story in a cross-Channel journal to the effect that a trade agreement between this country and Russia is contemplated through the medium of an outside agency; and, if so, he will make a statement on the matter.

The answer to all parts of the question is in the negative.

Has the Minister seen in this newspaper where it is suggested that meat exporters in this country had been interviewed by the parties concerned? Has the Minister any statementto make on that matter as to whether it is true or otherwise?

If the Deputy will stop reading cross-Channel newspapers he will have a more accurate idea of what is going on here.

What do you suggest —that he should read the Irish Press?
