Vol. 143 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Transport.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is now in a position to make a statement on his new proposals for dealing with road transport, mentioned by him at the Fianna Fáil Ard-Fheis; and, if not, if he will state when he hopes to be in a position to do so.

On the occasion referred to in the question, the statement made by me, regarding proposals for new transport legislation about to be introduced, indicated that changes in the present law relating to road transport services were not contemplated in these proposals.

I hope to be in a position shortly to introduce the Bill in Dáil Éireann.
