Vol. 143 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tullamore Nurses' Home.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state whether the plans have now been approved by his Department for the new nurses' home at the County Hospital, Tullamore, Offaly; further, if he will indicate the cause of the delay in approving of the plans and state when building is likely to commence.

Working drawings for this project, received from the local authority on 2nd December, are at present under examination in my Department. The local authority are at present preparing the plans for the mechanical and electrical installations.

Following the selection of a new site on which to erect the home, some delay occurred during the earlier planning of this building due to the need to alter the plans to suit the new site.

It is expected that the local authority will be in a position to invite tenders for this work in the early summer of next year.
