Vol. 143 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fishery Legislation.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether it is proposed to introduce proposals for legislation to amend the fishery statutes; and, if so, whether he will indicate generally the changes contemplated.

It is intended to make a comprehensive review of the fishery laws with a view to amending legislation when the Fisheries (Consolidation) Bill, 1952, has been enacted. I regret that it would not be possible at this stage to indicate the amendments which may be embodied in proposals for such legislation.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary indicate when this legislation will be introduced?

As soon as the Consolidation Bill has been passed.
