Vol. 144 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galtee Regional Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the reason for the delay in sanctioning the proposal of the Tipperary South Riding County Council to extend the Galtee regional water supply scheme to the village of Rosegreen via New Inn and Templenoe and if, in view of the urgent necessity for the extension of the scheme, he will give the necessary sanction as soon as possible.

The Galtee regional water supply scheme has just been provided at a total cost of over £151,000, work being completed last December. It is felt that a major expansion of the scheme, such as would be involved in the extension, should be deferred until it has been tested in operation over a reasonable period and the Tipperary South Riding County Council have been informed accordingly.
