On the advice of Comhairle Radio Éireann, I instructed the Director of Broadcasting to discuss this matter with representatives of the political Parties, with a view to arranging a series of broadcasts by nominees of the Parties during the general election campaign. The way in which the broadcasts should be allocated is a matter for the Parties themselves to decide, and agreement on this has not been reached so far.
