asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the E.S.B. will carry out a canvass of Pettigo and district, County Donegal, with a view to expediting the extension of current to that area.

I have been informed by the E.S.B. that a canvass of the Pettigo area will be undertaken immediately they complete canvasses of the other areas in the board's Sligo district which made prior applications for development under the rural electrification scheme. I am not, however, in a position to state when the canvass of the Pettigo area is likely to commence.
