Vol. 149 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closing of Railway Line.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is the intention of C.I.E. to close the railway line operating between Timoleague and Courtmacsherry, County Cork.

Train services on the line cannot be permanently discontinued except under the authority of an exemption order from the Transport Tribunal. C.I.E. are required to give public notice of an application for such an order and interested parties wishing to object to the making of the order would be afforded an opportunity of submitting their objections to the tribunal. No notice of an application for an exemption order in respect of this line has been published.
