Vol. 149 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commission on Emigration.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state whether the Commission on Emigration and other population problems has yet furnished its report; and, if so, if he will state the date on which such report was furnished and when it is proposed to make it available to the House.

A report signed by the majority of the members of the commission was presented to my predecessor on April 15th. Two members did not sign this report and one has since sent in a minority report. A report from the remaining member is still awaited.

The two reports received are now in the hands of the printer, but the question of releasing their contents to the House before they become available in printed form is at present under consideration.
