asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department received a proposal from Cavan Urban Council for sanction in respect of a housing scheme at Swillan, Cavan; and, if so, if he will arrange to have the necessary sanction given right away so as to relieve the serious unemployment problem which prevails in the town at the present time.

Plans submitted by the Cavan Urban District Council for a housing scheme at Swillan were approved on the 11th instant, subject to some minor amendments. The council may now proceed with the contract documents on which tenders for the scheme are to be invited.
