Vol. 146 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kiltimagh Tenants' Turf Supply.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that many tenants in the Kiltimagh area formerly got their turf supply on the estate of John O'Donnell, Oxford townland; further, whether he is aware that this estate has now been sold and that the new owner who is resident abroad will not permit these tenants to take turf, as was the practice of the former owners; and if he will request the Land Commission to have acquisition proceedings instituted so as to have this bog made available for the tenants concerned.

The Land Commission have no information about the sale of this estate but they will have the position examined with particular reference to the turbary needs of the locality.
