Vol. 146 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Afforestation in Dingle Peninsula.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the availability of a considerable acreage of land suitable for afforestation purposes in the Dingle peninsula and if he will state what steps he is taking to start afforestation schemes there; further, if he will state whether he has so far received any offers of land in the district for this purpose, and, if so, if he will indicate the present position regarding such offers.

An offer of 300 acres in the townland of Marhin, Ballyferriter, has been received and the area will be inspected as soon as possible. I would be very grateful to learn of any other holders who are willing to offer suitable lands for forestry purposes in this area.
