Vol. 146 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Forestry Schemes.

Mr. Flynn

asked the Minister for Lands whether a proposal to initiate a forestry scheme at Curraheen, Glenbeigh, County Kerry, is under consideration in his Department; and, if so, if he will have a decision in the matter expedited.

The Deputy was informed on the 31st March, 1954, that a survey of this area was contemplated. That decision has not been altered.

Mr. Flynn

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the necessity for a forestry scheme on the lands purchased from Timothy O'Connor at Caragh Lake, County Kerry, and whether he is now in a position to come to a decision in the matter.

The area mentioned by the Deputy has not yet been acquired by my Department. Agreement to purchase was reached last year. The Deputy will recollect that he was informed, on telephone inquiry to my Department last week, that the necessary documents were sent to the vendor's solicitor in March, 1954, for completion. The position has not altered in the meantime.
