Vol. 146 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mulroy Bay: Pilot Lights.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange to have immediate repairs and/or replacements carried out to the pilot lights at the entrance to Mulroy Bay, County Donegal.

I take it that the Deputy is referring to the light on Ravedy Island. That light has been damaged beyond repair and arrangements are being made for its replacement.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that in addition to that light there is also another light in the same channel which has been damaged not so seriously and that it is possible to repair it? Will he now have the latter attended to?

The Deputy may have in mind the lights at Doaghmore at the entrance to the bay. These lights were removed in 1946 because the channel had changed.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that there is a further light which was in operation and functioning up to a few short months ago? That is not one of the lights which he mentioned.

If the Deputy will give me particulars, I shall have the matter inquired into. I have only particulars of three at present.

I certainly shall.
