I am informed by the E.S.B. that Kilroy district is included for the purposes of the rural electrification scheme in the Carraroe area, the development of which has been considered by the board on a number of occassions. So far the area has not been selected for development, due mainly to the fact that the percentage of householders who have agreed to take the current is low. The selection of the area for development will be considered by the board from time to time but the board are at present unable to say when the development of the area is likely to take place.
I am also informed by the board that as it will be necessary to extend the network from the mainland from Screebe or through Carraroe before the current can be made available in Lettermullen, they do not expect that the current can be made available in that area for some time.
