Vol. 147 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Leasehold Property.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether he intends to introduce proposals for legislation to provide for the purchase of leasehold property by leaseholders, and, if so, when.

I have not yet had an opportunity of fully considering the matter and I am not, therefore, in a position to make a statement at present.

Will the Minister consider the matter? Am I to gather from his answer to the question that he is considering the matter?

I have said in my reply that I have not yet had an opportunity of fully considering it.

Will the Minister take an opportunity of considering it?

It will be considered.

Can the Minister say when it will be considered?

It will not take 20 years.

A commission was set up to inquire into proprietary and other leases——

The Deputy is now making a speech.

It is not a speech. I am putting a question to the Minister.

It is not a question.

The question is, was this matter included in the terms of reference when this commission was established?

I have already explained to the Deputy that I have not yet had an opportunity of considering it.

The Minister is not answering the question.
