Vol. 147 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wireless Telephone Service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware of the unsatisfactory nature of the wireless telephone service being provided from the mainland to Cape Clear, Sherkin and Hare Islands; and, if so, if he will take steps to rectify this grievance.

Work is at present in progress on the provision of modern radio telephone links with Cape Clear, Sherkin, and Hare Islands and it is hoped to have the new links in service by the end of this year. This new equipment will enable telephone calls to be made to and from the islands at all times.
