Vol. 147 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Counterpart Grant Fund.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state the present position regarding the schemes for the use of the Counterpart Grant Fund, and whether United States Congress approval has yet been given.

The proposals for the use of the funds in the American Grant Counterpart Special Account, of which details were furnished to the Dáil in reply to a question from the Deputy on the 23rd June, 1954, were approved by the United States Congress last August. Detailed arrangements must now be worked out with the American officials concerned for putting the proposals into operation and these arrangements are being pushed ahead as quickly as possible.
