Vol. 147 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gaeltacht Roads.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the necessity for the widening and steam-rolling of the following county roads which are situated in tourist centres and in a Gaeltacht area:— the Waterville-Glenmore road, the Waterville - Mastergeehy road, the Ballinskelligs-Glen-Emlagh road and the Windy Gap-Sneem road; and whether he will allocate special grants for these purposes under the tourist road grant scheme.

The road authority is responsible for all works on public roads in its area. The tourist road grant to Kerry County Council for the current financial year was allocated to specific works in April last. The roads referred to by the Deputy were not included in these works.
