Vol. 147 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Interest Rates.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is in a position to make a statement regarding the interest rates on housing provided by local authorities and purchased under the Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts.

In accordance with practice, Exchequer lending rates are being reviewed in relation to the current cost of borrowing as indicated by the terms of the recent National Loan and the result will be communicated in due course to the bodies concerned. This applies to Exchequer advances to the Local Loans Fund out of which the housing loans referred to by the Deputy are made to local authorities.
