Vol. 147 No. 5

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - McLean Farm, Ballina.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission propose to have the McLean farm, Lissaniska, Ballina, divided among local uneconomic land holders for the coming spring.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to deal with Questions Nos. 22 and 23 together.

Proceedings for the acquisition of this estate are well advanced but the owner has lodged an appeal against the price fixed by the Land Commission for the lands; until this appeal is disposed of, it will not be possible to say whether or when the estate will be acquired. The application mentioned in the Deputy's question cannot be considered until the acquisition proceedings are concluded.
