Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition and Division of Land.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have acquired the Minchin estate, Moneygall, County Offaly, and, if so when a scheme for distribution will be put into operation.

The Land Commission expect to conclude an agreement with the owner very shortly for the purchase of these lands comprising 582 acres.

It is not yet possible to state when allotment will take place.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the Bennett estate, Clareen, Birr, for division among local uneconomic land owners, and, if so, with what result.

Proceedings for the acquisition of these lands have reached an advanced stage but it is not yet possible to state when possession will be obtained by the Land Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have acquired portion of the Decies estate, Kinnitty, Birr; whether a scheme for distribution has been prepared, and, if so, when it is likely to be put into operation.

The Land Commission are purchasing some 300 acres of this estate but it is not possible at present to state when the lands will be acquired and divided.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when the Land Commission propose to divide the Ryan estate, Thomastown, Birr.
