Vol. 147 No. 5

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Offaly Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state (a) the purchase price of the Ryan estate, Thomastown, Kinnitty, (b) the amount realised from the sale of portion of the estate to the Forestry Branch of his Department, (c) the price obtained for timber sold, and (d) the amount realised from conacre lettings since purchase.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 31 and 32 together.

Of this estate an area of 134 acres has been allotted to the Forestry Division at a price of £1,000 (excluding the price of the timber thereon). It is not customary to furnish the details requested at (a) and (c) of Question No. 32. The net revenue collectable from all lettings including those made to the Forestry Division is £1,036.

The Land Commission are not yet in a position to indicate when the remaining portion of the estate will be allotted.
