Vol. 147 No. 5

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - Net-Making Factory.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether he has considered the possibilities of establishing a net-making factory at the Bord Iascaigh Mhara premises in Baltimore, County Cork, and, if so, with what result.

The possibilities of establishing a net-making factory here have been very fully examined and it has been decided that the demand for machine-made nets of the various types and specifications would be insufficient to enable nets to be produced at an economic price having regard to the capital investment which would be necessary to establish such a factory.
