Vol. 147 No. 5

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castletownbere Slipway.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what sum of money has been allocated for the improvement of the slipway at Castletownbere, County Cork.

The estimated cost of improving the slip at Castletownbere is £1,400, and it is intended to make a grant of £1,050 (75 per cent.) available towards the cost of the work, subject to a contribution of £350 (25 per cent.) by the Cork County Council. I expect to be in a position to make a formal offer of a grant on this basis to the Cork County Council in the near future. The work is not, however, suitable for execution in the winter months.
