Vol. 147 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Costings Commission Report.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether he has yet received the report of the Milk Costings Commission, and, if so, what action he proposes to take in regard to its findings, and, if not, if he will indicate the reason for the delay in its presentation, and when he expects to receive it.

The answer to the first part of the question is "No" and the second part does not, therefore, arise. As regards the third part of the question I understand that the delay in presenting the report is due to the fact that the work of checking and collating the large volume of data collected on the farms covered by the investigation has proved more tedious than was anticipated by the committee. I am hopeful that the report will be furnished to me within the next few months but the Deputy will, I am sure, appreciate that having regard to the independent nature of the investigation I am not in a position to give a specific date.
